Ingham Regional Special Response Team
The Ingham County Sheriff's Office partners with the Michigan State University Police Department, the East Lansing Police Department, and the Meridian Township Police Department to provide a highly trained tactical team to the citizens of Ingham County. The Ingham Regional Special Response Team (SRT) was assembled in April of 2013.
The purpose of this team is to prepare for and respond to extraordinary law enforcement situations in Ingham County. SRT will conduct operations for events such as high risk search warrants, barricaded subjects, hostage situations, civil disorder, and incidents of domestic or foreign terrorism.
The team is managed by an Advisory Board consisting of administrators from each participating agency. The Ingham County Sheriff's Office contributes 1 team commander, 4 operators, and 3 canine units to the 21 member organization.
