The Ingham County Correctional Kitchen Facility is staffed by one head cook, three kitchen supervisors, and twenty-three inmate workers. The kitchen is responsible for feeding all of the housed inmates in the Ingham County Jail. Over the course of its history, the 7,000 square foot kitchen has increased its feeding capacity to over 600 inmates. 62,000 meals are prepared on average each month, for a yearly total of 744,000.
In addition to feeding the inmates housed within the Jail, the Correctional Kitchen Facility Staff is also responsible for providing refreshments and snacks for all training sessions, luncheons, meetings, and special events held at the Sheriff's Office. The dedicated kitchen staff, which has over 80 years of combined food service experience, has received numerous awards and letters of commendation over the years.
